HAIR TREATMENTS

MEDICAL TREATMENTS

Hair loss can be caused by different factors, such as: the life cycle of the hair itself, genetic causes, diet or some diseases and derived treatments. Hair treatments offer specific solutions to combat one of the biggest aesthetic concerns.

The hair life cycle is divided into three phases: Anagen or growth, Catagen or transition, and Telogen or rest. The growth phase is the longest and lasts between 2 and 7 years. In this phase the hair grows approximately 1 centimeter per month. Then the transition or catagen phase begins, it lasts approximately 3 weeks and is when the hair stops growing. Finally, the resting or telogen phase arrives, in which the follicle rests for 3 months and the hair will fall out. At the end of this phase and after hair loss, the hair cycle begins again.

To solve excessive hair loss we have different hair treatments, as an alternative to hair transplant:

Hair mesotherapy with Dutasteride is one of the hair treatments to treat androgenic alopecia (due to genetic factors). This method uses Dutasteride to inhibit the action of male hormones, such as testosterone, which cause this type of alopecia. The drug Dutasteride can be administered orally, although it is common to do the treatment by microinfiltration directly into the scalp. In this way, we improve the effectiveness in situ and avoid side effects.

As a result, the thickness of the hair and its density are improved, the hair follicles are strengthened, recovering their vitality and, ultimately, their loss is stopped.

Hair mesotherapy is a biostimulator treatment that consists of administering medications and vitamins to improve hair health. Among the main benefits of hair mesotherapy we find that it revitalizes the hair from the roots, improves thickness and increases the creation of keratin. In addition, it enhances growth, helps hair regeneration, reduces hair loss and reduces sebaceous secretion, inflammation and flaking.

The capillary laser favors hair growth because the light passes through the surface of the skin, acting on the tissues of the scalp. This stimulates blood circulation, facilitating the arrival of oxygen and other nutrients to the hair follicles. As a result, it is possible to revitalize hair follicles, eliminate toxins and stimulate hair production.

Laser treatment is performed in several sessions and the results are usually visible between the 3rd and 5th session. In this way, it is possible to reduce hair loss, increase density and improve the texture of the new hair.

Hair bioestimulation is a biostimulation treatment which stimulates hair growth and stops hair loss. Among its main benefits, it stands out that it regenerates tissues, delays the deterioration of cells and prevents capillary aging. Capillary PRP is a non-surgical, non-invasive technique that obtains platelet-enriched plasma from the patient’s own blood.

To obtain it, a simple blood extraction is performed, which is subsequently infiltrated into the scalp. This improves circulation and increases cell proliferation of hair follicles. In addition, it favors the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, enhancing hair regeneration. In general, one session per month is sufficient for the first 3 months and then repeat the application every 3-6 months.

Topical treatments with Minoxidil and Finasteride are the most effective in combating the early stages of androgenic alopecia. That is, when the hair begins to fall out, it loses density and areas with less hair can already be seen. However, the application of these drugs are not solutions for advanced or total baldness, since they only work if there is life in the hair follicles.

Both medical treatments must be followed for life and in most cases require being applied (Minoxidil) or consumed (Finasteride) every day. Interrupting them would mean losing the hair gained. The effects and effectiveness of these products vary with each person, so it is necessary to put yourself in the hands of specialists. Our experts will assess your needs and advise you on the results you can expect from the different hair treatments.

Minoxidil is a vasodilator that helps nutrients circulate more easily through the blood vessels. In this way, it ensures that the hair follicles are better nourished and healthier. As a result, a healthier hair follicle helps stop hair loss and can even regenerate it. This drug has different presentations, including oral tablets or as a spray or as a gel, which is applied directly to the scalp, once or twice a day, depending on the degree of alopecia.

Finasteride deals with blocking the alpha-reductase enzyme, qwhich converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone or DHT, which causes androgenic alopecia. In this way, the weakening of the hair inside the hair follicle is interrupted and it is prevented from falling out. It is important to note that treatment with Finasteride, administered orally, stops hair loss but does not regenerate new hair.
